Cisco,TX. – Danny Lee Claborn, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Eastland, Texas. Due to Covid gatherings will be minimal. Viewing will be Tuesday 9-5 and Wednesday 9-11 at Chambers Funeral Home in Cisco. Graveside services will be 2 pm Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Elm Cemetery Okra Texas, south of Rising Star on County Road 375. Danny was born in Okra, Texas to Homer and Mary (Burns) Claborn on December 3, 1934. He was the youngest of four brothers. Danny graduated from Lubbock High School in 1954 and moved with his family to Cisco, Texas where on August 12, 1955, he married Annette Marie Brawley. Danny was a skilled mechanic with several different jobs before being hired at Cisco Junior College as an Auto Mechanic Instructor. He retired in 1994 with 25 years of dedicated service. Danny was a member of the Cisco Church of Christ, a volunteer fireman, a CISD bus driver and score keeper for the CJC Wranglers. He actively supported the local Livestock Association and livestock shows, was a lifelong FFA supporter and was President of the Elm Cemetery Association for many years. Danny always enjoyed many hobbies: wood working, horses, motorcycles, CB Radios, antique cars, sheep, cattle ranching with his son and Bingo. Danny and Annette were in a committed marriage for 60 years. Danny loved his wife dearly and faithfully cared for her during her last years of life. Together they afforded their son, Tommy, a full and abundant life after a disabiltating stroke. They were blessed with three granddaughters who they loved with great passion. Danny made all of his girls cherished pieces of furniture with the woodworking skills of his youth. After losing his son, Danny spent much of his time with his daughters and was able to experience the joy of being a Great-Grandfather. In October 2019 Danny moved to The Woodlands Assisted Living where he enjoyed his days and new friends. He loved riding his 3-wheel scooter, getting hugs and playing Bingo. Danny passed on a legacy of loving his Lord, his family, friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger and had many lifelong friendships. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Annette, his son Tommy and three brothers, Marvin, Billy and Jack. He is survived by 2 daughters, Pam Shine and husband Richard of Oak Point, TX. And Leisha Powleson and husband Ronny of Duncan, OK. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Kimberly Powleson Cantu of Lubbock, TX, Liz Shine of Fate, TX, and Cortney Powleson Kubala and husband Ryan of Edmond, OK. Two great granddaughters, Rylie Grace and Caroline Kubala. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial donations can be made to the Elm Cemetery Association P.O.
