Bobbie June Taylor passed away on Monday, January 13. She was born to Bythel and Dicy Spink on October 24, 1942. She was raised in a Christian home in Nimrod and attended school in Scranton and Cisco. She married Royce Taylor on August 15, 1960, and they were married for 49 years, 11 months. Bobbie was very talented in painting, sewing, cooking, decorating, and games. She loved children, enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School, and was active along with her husband in youth church activities at Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She decorated for many of those youth’s weddings. She and Royce enjoyed traveling with friends and family to Colorado, New Mexico, Yellowstone National Park, and Branson, Missouri. She helped with many organizations as secretary/treasurer including Calvary Baptist Church, Scranton Exes, and AARP. She is survived by nieces-- Doris Sumrow, Linda Bloomingdale, both of Houston; Sammy Best, and Glennis Boyd of Cisco. She is survived by nephews—Larry Jacobs, Jerry Taylor both of Cisco, Jimmy Taylor, and Keith Taylor. She is also survived by her cousins and her many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters-in law Velma Ridout, Eulene Jacobs, Doloris Lewis, and Joyce Taylor, and brothers-in-law Robert Jackson, Elward Taylor, Autry Taylor, and Rayford Taylor. The family would especially like to thank Tommie Seals, Beth Bailey, and Addie Walker--the wonderful friends who took her to doctor’s appointments and caregiver Chris Rogers who took excellent care of her during her last illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at Nimrod Baptist Church where she was a member on Saturday, January 18 at 3 p.m. Visitation with the family will be held an hour before the service time. Her cremains will be interred at Nimrod Cemetery next to her beloved husband. Arrangements were under the direction of Chambers Funeral Home of Cisco.
